Inside Ukraine’s Russian POW Facility

In September 2024, I was granted rare access to a POW facility in Ukraine housing Russian soldiers captured during Kyiv’s surprise Kursk offensive.

What we heard challenged Russian propaganda about the fight. The prisoners described being abandoned, under-trained, and conscripted against their will. Some said they feared returning home - not because of Ukraine, but because of what they'd been told would happen to them.

This report was filmed under strict international rules to protect detainees, and offers a complex portrait of the human cost of this war from inside walls that most never see.
