Ukraine “Open” to Peace Talks After Trump’s Victory
Just 24 hours after Donald Trump returned to the White House, I was in Ukraine when a senior government source exclusively revealed, on condition of anonymity, that Kyiv was prepared to discuss peace with Russia.
The official said Ukraine could accept Russian control of some territory in the south and east, in what was a significant shift from previous red lines. The report aired alongside first reactions from frontline Ukrainian soldiers, showing the unease and consequences of this shift on those still fighting.
The story quickly gained traction online, becoming one of my most widely viewed pieces of the year.
